Kente cloth
One of the most beautiful cloths of Ghana is Kente cloth, and weavers can be seen in many villages using the brightly coloured threads in intricate designs. You can buy at reasonable prices from the makers or at a slightly higher price from craft shops in the cities.

Adding Kente strips to a cloth. Weaving Kente is a slow process and the strips are narrow as shown.

You can buy a full cloth in the markets of Ghana. It is worn over the left shoulder and under the right arm, with the remaining length on your right thrown over the left shoulder. Double dutch? You will be amazed how easily it stays in place when you get the hang of it!
